After talking with some people in vent it seems that a lot of people are missing storage items, there is a fair amount of duped gear in the game, and old players with over powered hidden property items are in the game. We talked about a solution and most people seemed to agree that the following would be the best.

1. I would wipe all high level gear from the game along with any hidden prop gear.
Edit by EOD: To clarify, spirit + would be wiped from all characters, then your characters would be restored to the day of the merge and get the items they had that day.

This is because characters that have been created since the merge obviously won't be "Reset" to a previous date. They'll keep the gear, so there's a chance people could dupe otherwise.

2. Gear and storage items would be restored to all characters from backup files as of the original day of the server merge, or as close as the server can find for your character.

3. Also need to mention that characters that are wiped will have their chest pulls reset.

KEEP IN MIND: This large of a change will likely have some people that don't get their gear restored right away. I'm going to test this function here but I don't think it will work perfectly. So then you can decide to keep the wiped char and go for your chest pulls again or email me so your items can be restored.

Experience, stats, and marks would not be affected. People that started new characters in the last couple weeks would keep their experience and most likely keep their gear because new players wont have the high level gear that would be wiped.
Most likely spirit and above will be considered high level. I'm not going to worry about any duped mystic or below items.

I'm going to set the wipe logic at a treasure level to wipe fighter and mage rings in case any of them are duped.

This will NOT restore characters, it is a gear restore only. You will need to email me about any missing characters.

do you plan on resetting chest pulls?

as fair compensation for those of us who aquired gear legitly you should reset ALL chest pulls for the highest level character on the account.

i worked my ass off since the merge to aquire some gear and if gear is getting reset all the trading ive done is undone as is all the gold hunting etc

everyone's betrayal points will be reset to 0 because of all the resets thus prolonging the wait to get jeloc/velanthra back. consider it a sentence mitigation. hah

Sounds like a pretty good solution, to a big problem...But resetting chest pulls would also need to happen.

basically in lamens terms hes wipeing the gear to the day of the merge. from what i understand if u pulled on you char during that time itll be reset that pull only. in addition ej is going to give each accounts highest lvled char 1 40 pull reset to compinsate us for the loss in gear aqruired and well just a gift from our creator. everything will work out great with this , rejoice in your glory and be patient!!

great idea!! what about people who spent money on tokens/lost tokens in the past two weeks? For instance I bought a skill respec on my wizard and used it but he was reset to before I respeced, although the tokens were still missing.

so even though spirit+ gear will be wiped, we will get it all back when it is reset- sounds good. What about items selling in cons during wipe/reset? will it disappear if we leave it there? (seems to be a chance of duping there)

From EJ's post it sounds like its a complete wipe... From what some of the replies say it sounds like a complete wipe THEN a reset, resulting in high level gear still existing... Which is it?

I still think item wipes should be the final step in the overall solution to dupnig. Not the band-aid this seems to be. Once the duping method is found and fixed, THEN wipe to fix the duped items. Wiping without knowing the root cause of the duping will just prolong more duping.

reseting pulls???????? thats the big question

1. Wipe all items.
2. Reset chest pulls.
3. 15,000 lucky kills.

It really cannot be more clear.

Step one: EJ will wipe all gear Spirit and above
Step two: EJ will give us all of our gear from the day of the merge from the backup files.
Step three: EJ will give the highest character on every account a level 40 pull (reset the 40 pull).

That is the plan thus far.

Why is he worried about gear when my characters are still missing in action? Seriously.

I have no problem with this in theory. This is a major change, I would like it tested fairly well. I am also assuming that this will bring back the missing characters as well (even the lower level characters). Will this be a huge restore, or will it be accomplished on an account by account basis?

yeah i accidently purchased a 5t token that i did not need trying to just get into my storage. it should really be added to the consignment merchants. plz do this wipe/restore quickly so we can get back to normal xen.

So, for example... lets say I have a guy currently in a super Demo Leather (had on when servers merged) that I gained 10 mill exp and 10p gold on since merge, but he had no storage since merge. When all this takes place, he'll still be standin there with his super Demo Leather, the 10 mill exp gained since merge, 10p gold I gained since merge, his original storage before the merge, and his 40 chest pull available again?

EDIT: Learned plat won't stay the same - it will be reset back, but it seems this example is correct on the other aspects I mentioned.

so we are getting our pulls reset too????? ej i like your idea but it is not 100% clear as to what you are doing....

fine u are wiping gear and restoring char to the day of the merge....HOWEVER are we also getting our pulls reset?

Exp has been touched. My char lost 70 million exp because the backup file on it was to old. I dont know if I agree with him messing around with restoring chars again. I don't want any more exp lost.

And, from the way some some people are talking they just read the Spirit+ wipe part and clicked on "No", they never even understood it was being restored back at the time of the merge or as close as the server can find before merge. May have some serious exp loss though for someone who gets restored even a little bit before the merge.
